Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced a new facility for passengers from Friday. DMRC has started its facility with and to and connectivity concept. Through the DMRC Sarathi Momentum 2.0 app, passengers will now be able to book a ride for the first and last station along with the metro ticket.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in a statement, “The new speed 2.0 Delhi Sarathi app developed in partnership with Autope Payment Solutions is aimed at improving the facility by eliminating the need for many bookings.”
To increase passengers, DMRC has tied up with Start-up Sherids run by women providing bike-taxis and rapido for auto rickshaws and especially women passengers providing bike-taxis for women passengers.
‘Users will be friendly’
DMRC said that this entire process will be simple and user friendly. DMRC stated that the app suggests the most suitable options for the nearest metro stations and final mile connectivity after entering the destination.
A bike taxi or auto rickshaw is booked to the nearest metro station from the location of the passenger and the app can be automatically booked for the remaining journey before arriving at the destination station. If the last mile stop is inside the walk, then it will be saved from booking and will help in navigating the computer.
‘Major challenge made convenient’
Vikas Kumar, managing director of DMRC, said that this feature will make it convenient by solving a major challenge of urban traffic for last mile connectivity.
Also, Anurag Bajpayee, CEO of Autope Payment Solutions, said that this is an important step towards smart, passenger-friendly public transport through the use of partnership technology.
