Ranya Rao Gold Smugggling Case: Kannada actress Ranya Rao was arrested on March 3, 2025 at Bangalore Airport on charges of gold smuggling. Now new updates have been revealed in this matter. Ranya Rao himself admitted to the Revenue Intelligence Directorate (DRI) officials that gold smuggling from Dubai to Bengaluru was his first experience. Ranya also revealed that she had learned to hide the gold rods by watching YouTube videos.
Ranya Rao further said that before the smuggling attempt, he was getting calls from several unknown numbers for two weeks. Ranya told where and how she hid gold. Ranya said, “Sona was in two plastic -covered packets. I had clung to my body in the bathroom of the airport. I hid gold in my jeans and shoes. I learned to do this with YouTube video. This was the first time, when I smuggled gold in Bengaluru from Dubai. I had never bought gold from Dubai.”

Ranya told how she put gold rods in the bathroom at Dubai Airport on her body. Ranya said, “I bought crepe bandage and scissors at Dubai Airport before tying gold rods on my body inside my body.”
‘Foreign calls were coming for several days’
Ranya said, “I got a call from a foreign phone number on 1 March. I have been getting calls from unknown foreign numbers for the last two weeks. I was asked to go to Gate A of Terminal 3 of Dubai Airport. I was asked to take gold at Dubai Airport and deliver it in Bengaluru.”
‘Who did not know who had called’
However, Ranya also claimed that she did not know the person who contacted her and asked her to do so. He said, “I am not completely sure who called me. The pronunciation of the caller was African-American. He said,” That person was about six feet long and blonde. “
