Supreme Court Summond JAILER: The Supreme Court of India, despite its order, has taken the case of non -release of a prisoner seriously. The Supreme Court has ordered the jailer of Ghaziabad jail to appear in court on Wednesday (25 June). Apart from this, the court has also ordered the Director General of Jail of Uttar Pradesh to be present in the hearing through video conferencing.
After all, what is the whole matter,
A case was registered in January 2024 under sections 366 of IPC and UPC illegal conversion prohibition law in the case of kidnapping and conversion of a minor girl on a man named Aftab. After this, on April 29, 2025, the Supreme Court ordered his release on bail. Now Aftab has filed a petition again saying that the jailer has refused to release him. The jailer says that the order he has received for release, there is no complete mention of those sections of the law, under which this case is registered.
What happened in Supreme Court,
Supreme Court Justice K.K. The vacation bench of V. Vishwanathan and these Kotishwar Singh expressed surprise at the petitioner. The court’s vacation bench said that if the absence of the section of the law is the basis of its absence, then it is a serious matter. For this, the officials concerned will be prosecuted for contempt.
Apart from this, the judges of the Supreme Court also warned the petitioner about the false claim. The Supreme Court has said that there may be another case due to lack of release, in which the petitioner has not yet respected and if it really happens, then his honor will be canceled in this case too.
