According to the global media report, Tesla’s self-driving robotaxis have come under the scrutiny of US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The American Auto Security Regulator is investigating incidents where these vehicles allegedly violated traffic laws on the first day of their ride in Austin.
NHTSA has confirmed that it is aware of these incidents, and is working with Tesla to gather more information. Safety Administration NHTSA has said that, after reviewing the matter and other information related to the report, it will take appropriate action in the case of road safety.
Robotaxi broke traffic rules!
This matter has come out after some videos shared on social media went viral. In which a Tesla model Y (Robotaxi) entered the wrong lane at the Austin intersection. Actually, the car was to go to the left lane only according to the traffic rules, but the car turned to the right in the opposite lane. However, after crossing the car double yellow line, it again entered its right lane. But this is against traffic rules.
Another video of robotaxi has surfaced. In which two passengers are seen struggling in this driverless car. In fact, these passengers riding the car indicated to stop on the screen given in the rear of the car. Instead of following the protocol, the car stopped in the middle of the road, causing trouble to the people.
Apart from this, in another case, the car has also been seen overspeeding. Where the speed limit was 48 kilometers per hour, the car has been seen running at a speed of 56 km per hour.

Let me tell you, before the launch of Robotaxi, Texas has passed a new law for autonomous vehicles that come into effect from 1 September. For this, autonomous vehicle operators have to receive state permits and confirm that their vehicles “Level-4” fulfill the autonomsm rules. Which means that they can drive without human intervention under special circumstances.
This new law replaces an old law of 2017, which was completely banned from running autonomous vehicles to cities earlier. Now, the Texas Motor Vehicles Department will have the power to cancel the permit of any company which is considered to be a threat to public safety. Therefore, the department is also keeping a close watch on such vehicles. So that there is no untoward incident in future.
