Amid reports of alleged new girlfriends and divorce, this Indian leg -spinner has decided to play county cricket in England. Chahal will return to Northamptonshire to play County Championship and One-Day Cup in England in 2025. After playing in the Indian Premier League with Punjab Kings, Chahal will join Northamptonshire for the second time in his career.

The English County Club confirmed this on 13 March by North Committee. In the last season, Chahal along with the same team took 19 wickets in four matches of the county championship and also took five wickets in List A game against Kent in One-Day Cup. 9 wickets for the best 99 runs of his career in Red-Ball cricket came against Derbyshire in the county championship last year.

Northamptonshire announced that Chahal will be available for the County Championship Division to campaign from June 22, which will start from a domestic match against Middlesex. Indian spinners will not be able to play in the first seven matches of the season starting from April 4. Before going to England, Chahal will lead the bowling attack for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025, which runs from 22 March to 25 May.
